X-Factor and Nicole

Simon is not angry with Nicole but I am. She's a judge. She's there for a reason. If she can't hack it then leave. It was a very, very easy decision last night and if you didn't feel that it was an easy decision then look at the track record.

Rachel Crow and Marcus Canty were in the bottom two. Marcus has been in the bottom two for weeks now. Marcus has a rather low fan-base out there and Rachel had a bad night. A bad night that sent her home, because Nicole couldn't muster up the courage to vote for someone without feeling and looking like a bad guy. Well, she ended up looking like a complete douchebag. She thought by leaving it up to America that Rachel would be safe and she didn't have to speak up and kick Marcus off the show. Well, it ended badly.

Rachel was ridiculously upset, which I knew she would be. That much pressure every week on a naive and innocent 13 year old is bound to have it's repercussions. Her mother had to rush on stage to calm her down. Her heart might be broken now and she might have thought for one second that her life was over but she will get a record deal. I knew she was going home but I didn't think it was going to be until next week (same with Drew but that's neither here nor there). Anyways, it is what it is and now that I've gotten out the fact that Nicole is a douchebag, I feel a lot better. Marcus was not better than Rachel. They looked at his talent in a different light and I am not saying he doesn't have talent, I am saying he doesn't have the talent that the rest of the semi-finalists have and that includes Rachel.

Well, here's hoping that next week is different and fair and Nicole gets her finger out of her nose.

Top fifteen movies I am thankful for

So, I was watching Richard Roeper do it, so I thought I would too. Except because of the many movies I love and am thankful for and they are in no particular order.

1. Wizard of Oz- You have a good witch, a bad witch, nice music, a tornado, and a cowardly lion.

2. Twilight Saga- I could watch these over and over and over and over again and I do. Who wouldn't want a love like that, that transcends any boundaries of the world.

3. Harry Potter series- magic, wizards, love, true friendships, and moving stair cases. A chance to get lost in fantasy.

4. The Time Traveler's Wife- The ability to see your one true love even once after they die is just to incredible.

5. The Notebook- This movie reminds me of my grandparents and the love that they shared. It wasn't always perfect but they were true soul mates.

6. The Neverending Story- Fantasy that is never-ending. To have a book that gives you a different adventure each time and to figure out things about yourself along the way is, also, pretty great.

7. What Dreams May Come- "For being so wonderful a guy would choose Hell over Heaven just to be around you" This is why I love my husband, because I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, he would too.

8. Silence of the Lambs (and Hannibal)- This movie made me want to go to school to become a criminal psychology to find out why serial killers become serial killers. Too bad this didn't come to fruition, I still dream about becoming a criminal psychologist.

9. Saw (but not it's sequels)- it was different and gory and a man saws off his own leg!

10. The Blind Side- coming from nothing and gaining everything you ever really wanted.

11. The Green Mile- I didn't talk for days after seeing this movie the first time. I can watch this movie over and over and get something new out of it each time.

12. Moulin Rouge- singing, Nicole Kidman, more singing, Ewan McGregor, loving someone so much it hurts because you can never really be together.

13. Twister- I loved this movie so much that I dream of chasing tornadoes one day.

14. But I'm a cheerleader- When I realized that my attraction (physical, emotional, spiritual) would never just "go away".

15. The Craft- When I found out there's more to the world we live in.

Revenge

Revenge. Everyone has thought about getting revenge on someone at one time or another, but I bet that most have never gone to the lengths that Emily Thorne has gone to. Emily, played by Emily VanCamp from Brothers & Sisters, is getting even with everyone who threw her dad to the wolves; "close friends" who turned him in for crimes that they committed. He spent the rest of his life in jail.

Emily who grew up as Amanda Clarke had a great life, but it all ended when the FBI came and raided their beach house, took her into protective custody and arrested her father. He had everyone and everything against him, no matter how innocent he was. In the end, he ended up trusting the wrong people and ended up paying the ultimate price.

After Amanda turned 18 and was released, Nolan, a friend of her father's, met her and presented her with information about her life and her father. Her father died and jail but was able to leave her with some money and a box that held some of their previous life and the double infinity symbol on the top of the box. Then she started plotting. Plotting her revenge towards the people who hurt her and her father.

She immerses herself pretty quickly with the the "summer in the Hampton's" crowd. Able to rent out and eventually buy her beach house back. Nolan discovers who she really is, considering he hadn't seen her in a long time and she changed her appearance, and tries to convince her to be a team. I think he's just lonely and needs a friend and hopefully he doesn't end up ruining this for her.

Memories of her past has really opened a lot of wounds and I really hope she doesn't let her emotions over take her completely because she'll end up making a mistake. Especially as "her majesty" tries to find out everything about Emily and pull the rug out from under her. I love the different characters that are emerging and I really would like to see something between Emily and Jack pan out later.

The show is really good and very mysterious as she plots out what she does next. I am glad at least one person from "Brothers & Sisters" have resurfaced on ABC. Emily VanCamp was good as a supporting actress on "Bros. & Sis" but I am glad she's the "star" of the Revenge. She has this flair about her and I really think she's gonna make Emily Thorne pretty incredible, she's beautiful and mysterious and I can't wait to see what Emily does next. She's taken out two people already, I wonder who's next on her list?

Revenge is on Wednesdays @ 10pm on ABC. If you haven't watched the first two episodes, I believe they can be found on Hulu or the ABC site directly. I recommend checking it out!

X Factor

When I heard that X-Factor was coming to the U.S., I sorta shrugged it off a bit because I didn't know much about it. Then when I heard that Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul would be judges I figured I'd give it a try again because I just love their dynamic. Needless to say I was in awe of the show for several reasons; good and bad. The show started out amazingly with thirteen year old Rachel Crow who sang Mercy by Duffy. I am not familiar with the song but her feisty little attitude and powerful voice she opened what could only be a great show. There were definitely some laughs; Jetta the older lady who loves to touch herself, some tears; the forty-year old who sang "Natural Woman" and completely blew everyone away, I mean I was just in amazement at how powerful her voice was. Then there was something just absolutely appalling and horrible; a guy dressed in a silver outfit with a tie dye shirt underneath.. I thought he was just gonna be a bad sing.. he sang his own original song and then mid-way through dropped his pants. Are you kidding me!?!?!?! This show is geared towards young kids and older people. It was completely uncalled for and the man should've been arrested for indecent exposure. I noticed someone walking their family out and Paula (I am sure for show, though) got physically sick. It was just rude and horrible and that guy needs to find his brain. However, the show must go on and all that seemed to go away when a group of three guys came out who called themselves "The Anser" and sang "Rolling in the Deep" by Adele. If anything the gentleman with the red snow hat definitely has a future in the business. He was definitely talented and I definitely enjoy them as a group. As the show came to a close there was one final contestant of the day. Chris Rene, recovering addict and father, who absolutely captivated the audience (and me) with his original song "Young Homie" and it definitely made me tear a bit, a mix between Sublime, 311, and maybe Bruno Mars, definitely. I loved it.

New Girl

New Girl starring Zooey Deschanel is exactly what I expected. Zooey is so quirky but yet through her quirkiness she is just absolutely hilarious. I think I about died laughing when she made the "Lord of the Rings" comments. I love that they made her geeky and loud and obnoxious (to a point), because she reminds me a bit of myself.

I like each of the guys and how they are completely different. Even after just the first episode you can see how the dynamic will play out between Zooey and the other three guys. What they did at the end of the episode I totally didn't expect. Definitely check it out. I mean come on, who isn't a fan of Zooey? Okay, okay I know not everyone is but that doesn't matter. I like her enough for everyone!

Biggest Loser premiere 2011

Oh, how I miss Jillian. Just sayin'.

It started out with 15 people, ages ranging from 24-65, being dropped off in the desert of California. Then Alison shows up and tells them they will be split in groups and will be competing as 3 sets of ages. Young, older, and oldest. The Battle of the Ages. Then the trainers came by in Marine helicopters and the audience met Dolvet Quince and Anna Kournikova. Then the first challenge begun.

Run/walk a mile and whomever gets there first gets Bob, basically. Surprisingly, but not too surprising if you think about it... the older team won. Then the youngest who chose Dolvet and the oldest group who got stuck with Anna. Anna is in for it. Training the oldest team will really put her skills to the test. I have no worries that Dolvet can motivate and help the younger team but Anna, I believe, is way over her head.

How is a 20-something, with little to no experience, jump in and help the Oldest team lose weight. The weigh-in proved that she's to emotional to ultimately help the oldest team lose the wait they need too. I hope I am wrong... because these people didn't leave their lives to work with an inexperienced trainer.

Bob's team lost 146 lbs collectively at the weigh in and Dolvet's team lost almost 100 lbs and Anna's team lost about 43 lbs. Ended up sending Debbie home, which I am okay with because she wasn't going to do the work and let her team down. And one more complaint what's up with Bonnie and her knee, I think I'll shoot myself if I hear her complain about it again! Good Lord.

Like I said, I miss Jillian.

Emmy Awards

Boring. I guess mainly because I get sick and tired of seeing people win that aren't that great. Kyle Chandler really? I mean what about Hugh Laurie or Michael C. Hall. Just sayin'.

And what's with all the jokes that aren't funny? The only thing that has been mildly entertaining was Jane Lynch. Her opening was hilarious. She is hilarious.

At 9pm I started flipping over to Homeland, this new show on Showtime with Claire Danes. Much more interesting than the Emmy's. (Read more about Homeland in another post)

I have to admit, though, when Melissa McCarthy won for best actress in a comedy I had a Camryn Manheim moment. I really thought she might've busted out the "this is for for all the fat girls" speech. Snort. I really like how all the actresses got up when their names were called and they were all sizes and shapes and NOT ONE of them were stick thin and model-like. Loved it.

Did you see Juliana Margulies dress, I kept saying they should pan a camera over top of her and we'd sure enough see her breasts!

I love seeing Jane Lynch in a suit... it just makes it awkward to see her in a dress. hehe.

I'd love to see House or Dexter take it for outstanding drama series, but I doubt it.

What was up with that rendition of Hallelujah. UGH!

Bye bye Emmy's maybe you'll be better next year.

Bruce and Evan Almighty

Two movies that I could watch over and over again.

I've always loved Jim Carrey ever since Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. When I first seen Ace Ventura I went around for days recreating the scene in which Courtney Cox was "admitting" Jim Carrey to the mental institution and he was in a tutu rambling about football. I love a lot of his movies. He makes me laugh. When it comes to Bruce Almighty, who wouldn't want a few things to go their way?

I didn't really know of Steve Carell until I seen 40 year old virgin. The waxing scene was just hilarious. He's a weird kinda funny and I really like him. I was really excited when they said that Bruce Almighty was having a sequel and that it was about Evan Baxter. What makes the movie funny is not only Steve Carell but the cast is pretty good and Wanda Sykes is amazingly funny, as well. You can kinda of empathize with Evan, haven't you ever just had to do something that you believed in or whether you wanted to do it or not and people didn't agree with what you were doing?

If you haven't seen these movies, you should, especially if you like to laugh! Anything with these two actors is pretty funny!

The Secret Circle

Out of the three new premieres I have seen this week, I thoroughly enjoyed one. The Secret Circle starts out with a girl, Cassie, driving home as she's driving a car passes her recklessly. She ends up popping a tire as the other car stops and takes a peek and then drives away. Suspicious, just a bit. Rude, terribly. So, as she's changing her tire she calls her mother, they exchange some banter and as the mom is cooking the same car that passed Cassie is stopping in front of their house. You hear some static and the mom's line goes dead. As the guy gets out of his car you see him do some magic. Water splashing comes from the sink and the stove catches fire. The house ends up exploding with the mother caught inside. Horrible. Commercial. I hate commercials by the way. Anyways, we come back and it's a month later and Cassie has driven cross country to move in with her Grandmother. Cassie starts school and starts meeting a bunch of people that are a part of this "circle" who practice magic. She, slowly, begins to figure out that her parents were in a circle with the other characters parents and that it's a generational thing. The audience comes to find out that the parents have her there for completely different reasons than the younger circle. They want her for dark magic and the younger circle just wants her for the expanded power.

I really enjoy some of the younger generation shows. Lying Game, Pretty Little Liars, and Make it or Break it and I think I just added another to the list. I definitely will be watching this show again. It's very intriguing what choice that Cassie eventually makes dark magic or light and I am, also, interested if their theory of fate is true and she will get together with the boy who already has a girlfriend. Drama, drama, drama.

Ringer

Sarah Michelle Gellar stars as Siobhan and Bridget. Twins. They haven't seen each other in six years. Bridget is a recovering drug addict and hiding in witness protection while, in the beginning, Siobhan seems to have it altogether. Later do we find out Siobhan is pretty much a mess. It was interesting at first but then it was just plain boring and predictable. I will be taking this out of my queue and sticking with Biggest Loser.

Don't get me wrong I love Sarah Michelle Gellar but if she's trying to come back... just bring back Buffy. I was in love with that show.

I am definitely looking forward to premieres this month and next. As they get rid of shows they seem to adding ones that I am interested in watching. However, the oldies that are premiering this week have me a little giddy! Here's what I am looking forward too. (There are probably some I am forgetting, too)

Oldies: Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Desperate Housewives, House (October) and Dexter (Oct, 2.) Biggest Loser, Bones, and Parenthood.

New shows: Secret Circle, Ringer, Last Man Standing, Revenge, The X Factor (yes, I miss Simon Cowell), I hate my teenage daughter, Once Upon a Time, Whitney, and Pan Am.

What are you looking forward too?

And to answer your question.. No, I have no life. This is what I have to look forward to in the fall. ;)

Fashion Week

I have always had a little thing for fashion even though A. I can't afford it and Z. well, we won't go into that! HA *hide*.

However, I do try and keep up just a bit. I have checked out a few of the videos. I want to catch the Betsey Johnson and Avril Lavigne runway shows this evening and the Badgley Mischka one tomorrow morning. I actually need to see if they will be showing the Avril Lavigne this evening! I hear Kylie Jenner is gonna be walking in it (and we all know about my obsession with the Kardashians!

Last season of Desperate Housewives

The last season of Desperate Housewives premieres on September 25th and I couldn't be sadder. It's bittersweet. I got hooked on this show three years ago when they were showing the seasons on Netflix. If moms watch this show, I know they must identify with any of the four moms. I know that I am most like Lynette Scavo, the down to earth mother and daydream about being Gaby, the fashion model turned housewife but still is "oh so gorgeous"! This show has made me laugh (Lynette and the ritalin episode), cry (Mike and Susan desperately trying to get together and the Tornado episode) and there were definitely episodes that have made me mad (that crazy woman, Katherine Mayfair, good riddance to her).

I would like to know what I am supposed to do with my Sunday nights now? They axed Brothers and Sisters the beginning of the summer. Another show that I adored. They just keep coming out with 20-something shows or reality shows. Aren't there enough of those out there!?

Although it's bittersweet, you'll still find me vegged out on Sunday night tuning into Desperate Housewives until the series finale.

Insidious spoilers

Before I start, I thought I swore off horror movies, but apparently I can't help myself.

Picture it: My children are asleep, I turn all of the lights off, my husband is in his dungeon and I am curled up on the couch with a blanket waiting for the movie to start. I keep the volume down really low because I don't want to wake the children and if they come out to pee *cough make excuses cough* I don't want them to realize I have a scary movie on.

Well, even with the volume on low (not hearing the scary music) I was still scared silly. You know a horror movie is good when you have to ask your husband to sleep with you regardless of his wretched snoring just to feel safe. I fell asleep maybe a total of two to three hours that night and that wasn't consecutively. I had the bathroom light on and the television on all night.

Anyways, it starts out with a family that moves into a new house... a fresh start.. from what initially we'll never know. At first everything seems like it will be a good, fresh start but then things start going a little crazy. The mother finding books thrown on the floor, footsteps coming from the attic, hearing static and then men's voices on her baby monitor for her daughter's room and then actually seeing these things. That second night in the house, the father just comes home from work and two of the three kids are hanging out with daddy while the older, more curious one is sitting on the top step with his lantern, when suddenly the attic door opens... by itself! Are you scared yet? He ventures up the stairs and, of course, being a dark and mysterious attic he's a little nervous. As he tries to turn on the light, which you have to climb a rusty and breaking ladder and as he does this he falls from the fifth or sixth rung onto his back. He seems to be alright and starts looking around, then you hear a bit of creepy music and then he screams. His parents run up after him and comfort him. The next scene shows the dad checking out the little boys drawings saying he's not invincible and to get some sleep.

The next day the little boy doesn't wake up when nudged by his dad to get ready for school. They take him to the hospital and find out there's NOTHING physically wrong with him and they can't call it a coma. Everything leading up to this moment and a few things after one would think that it's just a haunted house which gives them reason enough to move. In their new house, you see the mom and mother-in-law talking and the mother trying to convince herself that she isn't crazy. The mother-in-law, played by Barbara Hershey, assures her that she isn't crazy and then curiously comments on a family picture. They move the boy in with them to take care of him and weird things start happening... again... a little boy running and giggling through the house and scaring the bejesus out of the mother. She's fed up, so with the push from her mother-in-law she calls this lady who specializes in these types of occurrences.. whatever they maybe.

Turns out her son is a astral projector and he has passed the gene to his son. Between the specialist and the mother they were able to keep the boy from astral projecting and subdue his memories. Now, they intend to do this with the grandson but he's so far into the Further that the dad has to astral project to go get him. In all this there is this terrible demon looking thing trying to take over the boys physical body. The dad does retrieve the boy and the boy does make it back to his body. A picture is worth a 1,000 words and I'll leave it at that.

Although, some parts of it were unbelievable, it still kept true to being a horror movie in that it scares the pants off you. I would definitely suggest this movie if you are in the mood to be scared..
